As a Visual Artist, I have worked in educational settings for over 6 years in and out of the Creative Partnerships Project, from nursery to comprehensive throughout Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, specialising in working with pupils with learning difficulties, including profound and severe. I am fully CRB checked and insured with public liability to 5 million pounds.
My delivery style is multi-sensory using not only sight, however, hearing and touch by introducing music, objects or a visual stimuli to help put the subject in context and to really get my clients involved and on board. If appropriate, I also include, creative writing, role-play and movement. All projects are completely tailored to suit students, Teachers, learning objectives and the curriculum.
This approach has seen me working in collaboration with other Practioners from a variety of disciplines to compliment our work together and across the curriculum. Communicating with partners is strong as I always take detailed notes during planning sessions, create structured plans and follow up through any means necessary to ensure that all is in place before a project begins and provide enough time for evaluation and reflection during and after a project.
My aim is to facilitate a positive environment without the use of a right or wrong way of exploring, expressing, creating and learning, in any given setting.
My interest in working with Teachers over the years as increased and am very keen on developing and enhancing their skills through partner teaching, creating curriculum solutions and Teacher training.
If you would like to discuss a potential project with your school, please contact me to arrange a meeting.
