Testimonials

“This course was something like I have never experienced before, it made you look at change through a totally different perspective and was solely around the way that we felt as individuals, rather than thinking about the impact on the staff. It was held under a really informal fun environment where you did not have to worry about the work that you where producing would be laughed at. The layout resources and delivery of the training was excellent. It made us feel positive about what our next steps would be and also about looking to the future and what our goals would be and when we wanted to achieve them by. Everyone was encouraged to share ideas and we were also encouraged to talk through each of our assignments and what they meant to us."
Lynn Byatt, Tui Thomson Contact Centre Manager

“It was a pleasure to work with Daxa Parmar while delivering the Creating Change programme for Care home Staff in 2007-2008 for MK Arts for Health. Daxa Parmar’s workshops gave the staff a hand’s on session in using and analysing colour and shapes. The staff listed the colour theory and practical experience as a valuable approach to bring back to the care homes when engaging the residents in activities.”
Grete Dalum-Tilds, Project Manager and Hospital Arts Curator, MK Arts for Health

“I have enjoyed the sessions and now understand how I can express myself in different ways by using colours and textures. I also have a greater understanding of how painting can help residents express themselves especially if they have difficulties with verbal communication”

"One of the schools catered for students with moderate to severe learning disabilities. Daxa delivered a series of dynamic sessions, with activities that included clay modelling, collage making, dance and role-playing – she made sure everyone involved was included in the session. In a follow up visit we found that Daxa’s activities had a lasting impact on the staff in the school and she inspired teachers to deliver further sessions using her ideas. We found that Daxa was very receptive to what Artworks and the schools wanted to achieve from this project and she didn’t just meet expectations, she exceeded them."
Lisa Webb, Artworks Officer, Leicestershire County Council, Environment & Heritage Services, The Open Museum - Artworks Collection

“A versatile, highly professional artist, who can take an initial idea and develop it into a visually stimulating final product.  The whole school was able to participate, from the three year olds in Foundation Stage 1 through to the adults, whether it is as part of a whole class, small groups or a staff training session.”
Annie Carter, Creative Curriculum and Key Stage 2 Leader Rolleston Primary School

“Daxa Parmar has provided Northampton Museums with a truly wonderful resource. Collaborating on the 'In Our Shoes' resource box was an inspiring journey. Daxa took the design brief and developed a really creative idea for the resource. She was at all times receptive to our suggestions and the collaboration was a true partnership."
Debra Cox, Senior Education Officer, Northampton Museums

"Daxa ran a number of workshops in Northamptonshire Libraries in 2008 based on different books the children had been reading as a class at school, set during World War Two. The children thoroughly enjoyed working with a variety of different media such as clay, chalks, tissue paper, material, to interpret experiences such as being evacuated during the war. They also enjoyed the role-play. Daxa was well organised and gave the children plenty of support and encouragement."
Rosalind Robinson Children and Young People's Librarian: Reader Development. Northamptonshire Libraries and Information Service

“I highly recommend Daxa for the inspirational way she gets results, Daxa quickly gains the respect and trust of the people that she is training and engages them on a personal bases that enables them to open up and in return personally get the most from the programme. Daxa is a visionary in that she is able to see beyond the immediate and quickly focuses on the solution / outcome. Her very unique background and skills enables her to engage with a group as if the individual is getting personal tuition, a very rare skill that i haven't seen often in my 20 plus years in the creative fields. Daxa is a asset to any programme or team, Daxa is willing to work as part of the team in order to write and develop a programme, and will find creative ways in order to obtain the final outcome. Daxa has a very detailed knowledge of her subject and delivers on time and in budget, she is consistent, reliable and can be left to get on with it.”
Percy Emmett, Creative Business Consultant

"Daxa is a creative and flexible artist who can accommodate individual needs on projects. I first worked with Daxa in 2007 when I commissioned her as an artist on the Hands on History Project for Northampton Museums service, setting her the task of designing and creating an innovative handling resource using oral histories of immigration experiences. Her ideas were creative and her designs showed both passion and flair for working with diverse community users in Northamptonshire. Daxa was a true asset to the project, delivering effectively from the design and ideas stage right through to production. I would have no hesitation in working with her again."
